Aisha Yesufu Criticizes Seriake Dickson for Rivalry with Peter Obi

Activist Aisha Yesufu has accused NDC leader Seriake Dickson of fostering unnecessary competition with presidential candidate Peter Obi, urging him to focus on national issues instead.

Human rights advocate Aisha Yesufu has publicly rebuked Seriake Dickson, a prominent leader within the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), following his recent television appearance. Through her official social media account, Yesufu suggested that Dickson appears to be treating the party’s presidential flagbearer, Peter Obi, as an opponent.

Yesufu’s comments came in reaction to Dickson’s defense of party leadership during the interview, where he addressed grievances aired by supporters of Obi in the wake of internal primaries. She emphasized that Dickson’s leadership role is not under threat, noting that his energy should be directed elsewhere.

She urged the politician to prioritize the upcoming 2027 electoral cycle and the urgent need to address the nation’s ongoing difficulties. According to Yesufu, the primary goal for party members must remain the rescue of Nigeria, rather than catering to personal pride or internal conflicts.
