Chelsea impose Friday deadline for £120m Enzo Fernandez transfer

Chelsea have set a £120m asking price for Enzo Fernandez, with a firm deadline of Friday evening for any potential suitors to submit formal offers.

Chelsea have established a Friday 17:00 BST cut-off for receiving bids of £120m or more for midfielder Enzo Fernandez. The 25-year-old Argentina international has been linked with a departure since March, when reports emerged regarding his desire to join Real Madrid. Following a challenging campaign where Chelsea placed 10th in the Premier League and lost the FA Cup final to Manchester City, the player’s representative, Javier Pastore, claimed his client was undervalued.

While Real Madrid has denied interest, Manchester City remains a potential suitor, though the club is also tracking Lille midfielder Ayoub Bouaddi. Chelsea are firm on their £120m valuation, representing a profit over the £107m they paid Benfica in 2023. The deadline aims to resolve the situation before the new season begins.

New manager Xabi Alonso has met with Fernandez to discuss his future but has kept the details private. Although the club is open to a sale at the specified price, they have signaled a willingness to keep Fernandez as a central part of their squad. The midfielder, who recorded 15 goals and seven assists in 54 appearances last season, rejoined Chelsea training under Alonso this week.
