BEPU chairman, Dr. Isah Muhammad, released a statement offering sympathy to the grieving families and the Randagi community, while wishing the wounded a swift recovery. Beyond the immediate violence, the group urged state and federal authorities to improve oversight of mining operations in the region. Residents have frequently reported significant damage to local farmland, public infrastructure, and the potential contamination of water sources due to chemical use during mineral processing.
