The Benue State branch of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially disavowed Dr. Emmanuel Agbo, labeling him an impostor and a fraud for asserting he is the party’s choice for governor in 2027. This response follows the spread of a falsified Certificate of Return on social media, which Agbo used to substantiate his claims.
Party State Secretary, Comrade Dan Nyikwagh, released a formal statement clarifying that Agbo holds no such status within the party. Any media materials or videos depicting him as the candidate are dismissed by the PDP as malicious attempts to deceive the public.
The party maintains that Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa (SAN) is the legitimate and affirmed candidate for the upcoming election. His selection followed a transparent, unanimous consensus process backed by party leadership and stakeholders, with oversight from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Addressing the situation, the PDP warned that legal action is underway against Agbo and his associates for impersonation. They emphasized that such criminal activity will be met with the full extent of the law. Finally, the party urged the public, media outlets, and security services to ignore Agbo’s false narratives while reiterating their support for Aondoakaa’s candidacy.
