Bauchi Police Arrest Almajiri Teacher for Assaulting Pupil in Darazo
The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested 28-year-old Almajiri teacher, Lawal Nasiru, for allegedly assaulting an 11-year-old pupil, Sa’id Sani, in Darazo Local Government Area.
According to Police Public Relations Officer Ahmed Wakil, the victim was tied with a heavy rope and beaten with a stick and thick cable, sustaining multiple injuries. The incident was reported on September 22, 2025, by the boy’s guardian, Idris Mohammed.
Nasiru reportedly confessed during interrogation, claiming he tied the pupil to prevent him from fleeing before the parents arrived. The victim was immediately taken to General Hospital, Darazo, for medical treatment.
The case has been transferred to the Bauchi State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation, and the suspect will be charged in court upon completion.
