Akindele Ayekooto, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress, has publicly questioned the leadership capabilities of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Nigerian Democratic Congress. The criticism follows comments Obi made during a recent appearance on Channels Television, where the former Anambra State governor explained that his failure to hold local government elections was due to unavoidable legal disputes.
In a social media statement, Ayekooto expressed skepticism regarding Obi’s potential to manage national affairs if elected president. He specifically pointed to the candidate’s history of changing political parties as evidence of a tendency to evade difficult situations rather than resolving them. Ayekooto remarked that if Obi struggled to address issues within a single state, his ambition to govern the entire country is contradictory.
