Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State announced that his administration has successfully launched N90 billion in infrastructure projects without the need for bank loans, thanks to revenue growth spurred by President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms. He shared this information at the Government House in Lafia while hosting the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Presidential Media Team, headed by Mr. Bayo Onanuga.
The media team arrived in the capital to review various federal and state initiatives. Governor Sule noted that the elimination of fuel subsidies and related policy shifts significantly boosted the state’s monthly allocation from a previous range of N3.8 to N4.5 billion to a current average of N14 to N16 billion. He emphasized that this financial windfall allows the state to fund massive developments independently, contrasting this with past struggles to secure even N5 billion in loans.
Addressing the media, Sule encouraged journalists to look beyond surface-level reporting. He urged them to investigate the underlying policies driving such projects and to provide balanced coverage that acknowledges government performance alongside necessary oversight. The team examined several key locations, including the Nasarawa State Secretariat, which now features a solar-powered complex, and the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Interchange.
Further inspections included major industrial sites like the Avatar Lithium Processing Plant and Diamond Energy Lithium Processing Plant. The governor also highlighted advancements in other sectors, such as healthcare expansion across three senatorial districts, 10,000 hectares dedicated to rice cultivation for food security, and growth in the mining industry supported by federal value-addition policies. Sule noted that these combined efforts are designed to improve both the economy and the quality of life for all residents.
