The All Progressives Congress (APC) is celebrating the one-year milestone of Professor Nentawe Yilwatda’s tenure as National Chairman. According to the party, this first year has been instrumental in fortifying internal systems and preparing for the upcoming 2027 general elections.
A statement from Mallam Yusuf Abubakar Dingyadi, the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Chairman, highlighted Yilwatda’s focus on fostering unity, enforcing organizational discipline, and implementing institutional changes. Upon taking office during a difficult time, Yilwatda prioritized reconciliation among members and the advancement of internal democratic processes.
His leadership approach has fostered better collaboration between the National Working Committee, party officials, and the grassroots membership. Administrative upgrades at the National Secretariat have also been implemented to boost transparency and operational performance. Furthermore, the party has increased its outreach to women, youth, and persons with disabilities, while reinforcing its presence at the local and state levels.
The APC expressed confidence in its future performance, linking its goals to the Renewed Hope Agenda championed by President Bola Tinubu. While the party acknowledged the strain caused by current economic reforms, it maintained that these measures are necessary for achieving long-term stability. Looking ahead, the leadership remains optimistic about the 2027 polls and continues to call for unity among its ranks to ensure continued democratic growth.
