The Anambra State Police Command is currently seizing vehicles fitted with tinted glass, citing a strategic push to curb criminal activity. Authorities stated that vehicles with unauthorized or suspicious tints are frequently used by perpetrators to mask their identities, necessitating this enforcement action.
SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer, noted that officers are impounding vehicles even if owners possess tinted glass permits. The operation also focuses on identifying fraudulent permits, unregistered cars, and vehicles displaying obscured or altered license plates.
While officials recognize that this initiative disrupts daily routines for many drivers, Ikenga emphasized that the measure is essential for maintaining safety. The police are asking for the public’s patience and cooperation as they work to improve regional security and prevent criminals from exploiting vehicle regulations.
