Former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has expressed his grief following the death of Dr. Adamu Mohammed Fika, a former Clerk of the National Assembly. In a statement released Saturday, Tambuwal lauded Fika as an exemplary administrator and a dedicated elder statesman who prioritized integrity throughout his career in public service.
Highlighting Fika’s lasting influence, Tambuwal noted that the late official played a vital role in professionalizing the legislative bureaucracy. The former governor shared that his connection to Fika spanned decades, beginning in 1992 when Fika helped secure employment for several individuals from Tambuwal’s community. These individuals eventually attained high-ranking positions within the National Assembly.
Tambuwal also reflected on his time as Speaker of the House of Representatives, during which he championed Fika’s appointment as Chairman of the National Assembly Service Commission. He characterized the loss as deeply personal, extending his sympathies to Fika’s family, the Fika Emirate, the state of Yobe, and the entire National Assembly staff. He concluded by offering prayers for the deceased’s eternal peace.
