Adebayo Adelabu, the former Minister of Power, has publicly denied reports suggesting he plans to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Allied People’s Movement (APM). This clarification was released on Friday in Ibadan through his aide, Femi Awogboro.
The statement addresses speculation that surfaced earlier in the day, which alleged that Adelabu’s personal assistant, Ajiboye Akande, had met with APM representatives to arrange a move for both himself and the former minister ahead of the 2027 elections. Adelabu labeled these claims as entirely false and malicious.
Reaffirming his loyalty to the APC, the former minister stressed his ongoing commitment to the party and his respect for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he views as his political mentor. Adelabu urged the public to reject these rumors, describing them as an attempt to cause unnecessary political instability. He remains dedicated to the party’s leadership and democratic principles.
