Ogba Oghenevewogaga, a high-ranking member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stated on Friday that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is intimidated by the strength of the opposition. Speaking during an interview on News Central, Oghenevewogaga asserted that the ADC is set to grow significantly under the guidance of National Chairman David Mark and presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, predicting an APC defeat in 2027.
The ADC representative alleged that the ruling party is actively fueling internal instability within the ADC to weaken its standing. He emphasized that the ADC remains the primary opposition force in the country and claimed the APC recognizes it as a genuine threat to their electoral prospects. According to Oghenevewogaga, voters are currently seeking a viable alternative due to widespread national frustration.
Furthermore, Oghenevewogaga criticized remarks made by First Lady Remi Tinubu regarding youth empowerment initiatives involving small-scale trading. He argued that suggesting grants for frying bean cakes or roasting corn reflects an agenda to keep citizens in poverty rather than fostering genuine economic advancement. He contrasted this with the vision of past leaders like Obafemi Awolowo, insisting that the ADC intends to implement more ambitious policies to combat starvation and insecurity when they assume power in 2027.
