The African Democratic Congress (ADC) claims the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is intentionally fracturing opposition support, an act they believe bolsters the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). During a stakeholders meeting in Dutse, Jigawa State, the ADC urged voters to move away from the PDP in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
Senator Sabo Muhammad Nakudu, the ADC governorship candidate for Jigawa, conveyed this message through his running mate, Malam Aminu Ibrahim Ringim. The party argued that the PDP lacks a coherent presidential platform and is merely feigning opposition. They pointed to internal friction within the PDP, citing conflicting factions like those associated with Nyesom Wike as evidence of a party that cannot effectively challenge the APC.
Nakudu asserted that because citizens have already experienced governance under both major parties, they should now turn to the ADC as a viable path forward. Ringim added that the party is actively recruiting high-profile politicians, predicting an increase in defections. The leadership called upon their members and officials to strengthen grassroots mobilization and maintain dedication to secure victory in the 2027 cycle.
