Governor Adeleke and the Accord Party have backed President Tinubu for 2027, while the APC forms a massive campaign council and police hunt suspects involved in political violence.

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State and the national leadership of the Accord Party have officially declared their support for President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election. Pelumi Olajengbesi, spokesperson for the governor’s re-election team, confirmed that the decision was reached during a meeting in Osogbo. The party leadership emphasized that the Tinubu administration should be allowed to finalize critical infrastructure projects, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road and the Sokoto-Badagry highway.

During these discussions, the party leadership expressed concerns regarding the upcoming gubernatorial election, cautioning against electoral interference or the deployment of security forces to intimidate their members. Separately, non-indigenous residents from various regions living in Osun have pledged their support for Governor Adeleke’s re-election, focusing on maintaining peace in the state.

In related developments, the Osun State police command has issued a wanted list for five individuals suspected of involvement in recent political violence that resulted in several deaths. Police spokesperson Abiodun Ojelabi confirmed that authorities are actively searching for Dauda Olamilekan, Taoreed, Adetunji Kamoru Olatunde, Saka Afees, and Adeyemi Saheed.

Meanwhile, APC governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji urged Christian voters to prioritize candidate competence over religious identity. He reaffirmed his commitment to governing based on constitutional principles if elected. Finally, the APC has appointed Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma to head its 276-member National Campaign Council, tasking the team with coordinating various subcommittees to secure victory in the state’s governorship race.
