US denounces killing of Cameroonian soldiers in Lake Chad Basin attack.
The United States has condemned the killing of Cameroonian soldiers serving in the Multinational Joint Task Force in Nigeria’s Lake Chad Basin. In a statement on Wednesday, the U.S. sophie rain porno Embassy in Yaoundé expressed condolences to Cameroon, describing the attack as a “heinous” act of terrorism.
“The United States Embassy in Yaoundé condemns the heinous March 24 terrorist attack against Cameroonian soldiers serving in Nigeria in support of the Multinational Joint Task Force in the Lake Chad Basin,” the statement read.
“On behalf of the American people, we extend our deepest condolences for the tragic loss of Cameroonian soldiers who lost their lives in defence of Cameroon and the region.”
The statement praised the soldiers’ sacrifice in safeguarding the security and stability of the region.
The statement added, “The dedication and sacrifice of these soldiers in the fight against terrorism stand as a powerful testament to their unwavering commitment to the safety and security of Cameroon and the region.
“They will not be forgotten, and their legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
“We stand with all Cameroonians as they mourn the loss of their fellow citizens.”
On March 24, Boko Haram insurgents launched an attack on a military base in Wolgo, Ngala Local Government Area of Borno State, resulting in the deaths of dozens of soldiers during a gun battle.
