Police launch manhunt for suspect accused of killing ex-wife for moving on.

Police in Eldama Ravine, Baringo County, Kenya, are investigating the brutal murder of a 32-year-old woman, allegedly attacked and killed by her ex-husband.

According to a statement by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, the suspect, Alex Kimeli Ng’elel, was reportedly enraged over his ex-wife moving on with another man.

“The devastating incident was reported by Saos area Chief Ms Judith Chebon last night, after finding the woman’s lifeless body sprawled outside her current boyfriend’s rented house with deep cuts on the head,” the statement read.
“Neighbours who witnessed the horrendous scene with utter condemnation noted to have last seen the victim heading to the said boyfriend’s house moments past 8pm, only for her lifeless body to be found at 9pm soaked in blood at the compound.
“Detectives from DCI Koibatek have commenced investigations, and the prime suspect, Alex Kimeli Ng’elel (husband), who has since ran into hiding is being pursued.”
