Nigerian military forces successfully liberated nine kidnapped individuals in Niger State and captured 20 suspects across Plateau State during recent national security operations. These actions, carried out between Wednesday and Thursday, were detailed in an official report released in Abuja.
Soldiers from the NATRAC Administrative Battalion, serving under Operation Savannah Shield, freed the nine hostages near the Kotonkoro forward base in the Mariga Local Government Area. These individuals have since been placed in the care of local officials to facilitate their return to their families.
In a separate action, Sector one units of Operation Enduring Peace arrested 20 individuals—16 men and four women—within the Hamas Terminus and Congo Russia sectors of Jos North. These suspects were transferred to the Nigeria Police Force for processing and potential charges. Additionally, military personnel engaged in a skirmish on the Shambo-Warari Road in Kaduna, where they repelled an ambush by terrorists who eventually retreated, leaving behind a motorcycle.
Furthermore, troops in Adamawa apprehended two alleged logistics suppliers for extremist groups. In Borno State, two Boko Haram militants, alongside their spouses and child, surrendered to authorities in Gwoza, turning over two AK-47 rifles and 20 rounds of ammunition.
