Jessica Bang, an emerging talent in Australian golf, has passed away at 18 following a brain haemorrhage. She collapsed on August 1 while readying herself for a tournament in Thailand. Despite being transported to a Bangkok medical facility for urgent surgery and spending nearly two weeks in intensive care, she died this Thursday.
Bang, who moved into the professional ranks at the conclusion of 2025, made an immediate impact by securing a victory in only her fifth professional start earlier this year. The WPGA Tour of Australasia expressed profound sorrow, describing her as an exceptional young athlete whose loss is deeply felt by the entire golf community.
To support her family with medical costs, relatives established a GoFundMe campaign, stating that they are devastated by the loss. Before her passing, the talented teenager had won the 2025 Queensland Amateur and had recently begun her rookie season on the WPGA tour.
