The Federal Government has dismissed reports suggesting that the recruitment process managed by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has been pushed back to 2027. Officials labeled the widely circulated document announcing this delay as a fraudulent fabrication.
Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, issued a statement on Thursday clarifying the situation. The ministry identified a fake press release, dated August 11, 2026, which incorrectly linked the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to claims that the hiring process was halted due to budget shortages.
The ministry emphasized that the document is completely unauthorized and was not endorsed by the Minister or the board. Current hiring efforts remain active as planned. Applicants are encouraged to ignore the misinformation and check for official updates only through verified government channels, specifically the website cdcfib.gov.ng.
