Rangers and Shooting Stars have decided to host their upcoming CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup home fixtures at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex located in Abeokuta, as stated by the DAILY POST.
Previously, the Nigeria Premier Football League champions, Rangers, had finalized plans to utilize the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne. However, after consultations between the club and the technical staff headed by Fidelis Ilechukwu, the team opted for the facility in Abeokuta instead.
Shooting Stars also initially chose the Ikenne venue before shifting their preference to Abeokuta. Rangers are scheduled to play AS Sobemap from the Benin Republic in the Champions League opening preliminary round. Meanwhile, Shooting Stars are set to compete against CS Sfaxien of Tunisia in their Confederation Cup preliminary matchup. Both tournaments are slated to begin early next month.
