Ben Foster, the ex-Manchester United shot-stopper, has voiced his bewilderment over Arsenal’s choice to offload forward Leandro Trossard during the recent transfer window. The 31-year-old Belgian proved vital in the Gunners’ campaign, which culminated in their first league title win since 2004.
Throughout the previous campaign, Trossard featured in 31 league fixtures, earning 21 starts while recording six goals and six assists. Following his 2023 move from Brighton & Hove Albion, he helped the club transition into title winners. Despite his contributions, Arsenal sanctioned a move to Besiktas for approximately £17 million. He left London with a total of 36 goals and 34 assists across 174 appearances.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Foster admitted his disapproval of the move, noting that he views Trossard as a highly influential squad member. With only one year left on his contract, Trossard has now transitioned to the Turkish league to begin his next professional challenge.
