The 22-year-old goalkeeper became the game’s focal point in Rabat. She made a vital save during extra time and went on to block three additional spot-kicks during the shootout. With the score deadlocked in the 118th minute, Morocco received a penalty, but Bihina denied Fatima Tagnaout to keep Cameroon’s tournament hopes intact.
Neither team managed to score after 120 minutes of play, forcing a penalty shootout. Bihina continued her dominance by thwarting efforts from Kenza Chappelle, Maryame Atiq, and Sakina Ouzraoui. Following the misses, teenage defender Maryam Nyadjou successfully converted the final penalty to secure a 3-1 shootout victory at Moulay Hassan Stadium.
Cameroon is now set to compete against Malawi in Sunday’s final at 19:00 GMT. Malawi earned their spot by defeating Algeria 3-1 earlier that day. Both teams are vying for the continental trophy in what is anticipated to be a historic conclusion to the tournament.
