Celtic Acquire Haissem Hassan on Four-Year Contract

Celtic have strengthened their squad by signing Egyptian international and former Real Oviedo winger Haissem Hassan to a four-year contract.

Celtic have finalized the signing of winger Haissem Hassan from Real Oviedo on a four-year deal, which includes the possibility of a one-year extension. The 24-year-old, who primarily operates on the right flank despite being left-footed, gained significant attention during the World Cup. Representing Egypt, he delivered a standout performance against Argentina that nearly resulted in an upset.

Hassan’s tournament appearances were limited to 126 minutes due to registration delays. However, he made a strong impression as a substitute against Australia and later caused persistent problems for the Argentine defense. The French-born attacker, who switched his international allegiance to Egypt, has previously played for Chateauroux, Villarreal, Mirandes, and Sporting Gijon.

Manager Martin O’Neill, aiming to bolster a squad that saw many departures, sees Hassan as a key addition alongside new signings Kasper Hogh and Camilo Duran. Hassan’s arrival is expected to provide tactical versatility, potentially allowing O’Neill to employ a more fluid, multi-faceted attacking formation similar to strategies used during the club’s past successes.
