Dangote Cement and FRSC deepen road safety collaboration in Ogun State

Dangote Cement’s Ibese Plant and the Ogun State FRSC have renewed their partnership to improve road safety standards through joint advocacy and the proposed establishment of a Special Marshal Unit.

Dangote Cement Plc, Ibese Plant, has reinforced its commitment to road safety through a new partnership with the Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). The collaboration was formalized during a courtesy visit by the new Sector Commander, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, and his management team to the plant.

During the meeting, Commander Ogunjobi praised Dangote Cement for its longstanding support of FRSC initiatives and its history of responsible transport management. He noted that the company serves as a vital corporate partner, emphasizing that road safety requires active cooperation between government bodies and the private sector. To further this mission, Ogunjobi proposed the creation of an FRSC Special Marshal Unit within the Ibese plant to improve safety awareness and provide advanced training for drivers.

Ayyagri Subbaraidu, the Plant Director, welcomed the proposal and reaffirmed that safety is a fundamental aspect of the company’s Vision 2030 strategy. He underscored that the FRSC is a crucial stakeholder in their logistics operations. The company pledged to continue working alongside the agency to boost driver competence, enhance regulatory compliance, and foster a safer environment for all commuters in Ogun State.
