Monaco has declined an initial verbal offer from Crystal Palace for Lamine Camara. The 22-year-old Senegal international was the subject of a bid exceeding £35m, a sum that would have established a new transfer record for the Premier League side. Camara, who recently contributed to Monaco’s victory over Liverpool at Anfield, has earned 49 caps for his national team and participated in the recent World Cup. He transferred to Monaco from Metz in 2024 for approximately £12.8m after developing through elite youth systems in Senegal.
Under the guidance of new manager Pierre Sage—who took over from Nottingham Forest-bound Oliver Glasner—Crystal Palace has been active in the market. The club has secured Oscar Mingueza, Evann Guessand on loan, Dwight McNeil, and Takehiro Tomiyasu. The team is now preparing for a final pre-season match against Freiburg before their Premier League season opener against Everton on 22 August.
