Turkish lightweight world champion Elif Nur Turhan has inked a deal with Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), a move that heightens the prospect of a unification bout with Britain’s Caroline Dubois. Turhan, formerly under contract with Matchroom Boxing, transitioned to MVP as part of a fresh collaborative partnership between the two organizations.
The 31-year-old boasts an undefeated professional record of 14 wins, including eight knockouts, and currently holds the IBF lightweight championship. Expressing her enthusiasm for the new chapter, Turhan highlighted the collaborative potential for female boxers and her ambition to secure additional world titles.
MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian praised the addition of the Turkish fighter, citing her significant punching power and aggressive approach as key assets. Turhan joins fellow MVP lightweight titleholders Caroline Dubois and Stephanie Han. Dubois is scheduled to defend her WBC and WBO belts against Amelia Moore in Birmingham on 29 August. This latest recruitment is part of a broader initiative between MVP and Matchroom to enhance opportunities for women in the sport.
