Pelumi Olajengbesi, who represents Governor Ademola Adeleke’s campaign, has warned Senator Francis Fadahunsi of a ₦10 billion lawsuit. The legal action centers on accusations of defamation and false claims made by the Osun East lawmaker.
Hammed Lasisi, acting as legal counsel for Olajengbesi, issued a formal notice on August 12, 2026. The document highlights disparaging remarks Fadahunsi allegedly made during interviews on Viable TV on July 2, 2026, and Channels Television’s Politics Today on August 11, 2026. According to the notice, Fadahunsi questioned Olajengbesi’s heritage, claiming he is not from Ijebu-Jesa but rather from Ogun State. Furthermore, the senator allegedly linked the spokesman to criminal activity by accusing him of employing members of the Eiye and Aye cult groups to terrorize the public.
Olajengbesi, a lawyer, categorically denied these claims, asserting that he has never supported or financed cultists. He argued that the accusations damage his professional standing and character. The demand letter insists that Fadahunsi issue a public apology and retract the statements across the same media channels within 24 hours. Failure to comply will lead to legal action seeking ₦10 billion in damages for the harm caused to his reputation.
