Atiku Abubakar Compares Political Persistence to Abraham Lincoln Ahead of 2027

Presidential hopeful Atiku Abubakar claims he is prepared for the 2027 election, likening his pattern of repeated electoral losses and eventual success to the career of Abraham Lincoln.

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress, asserts that his vitality and vigor ensure he remains an unstoppable force for the 2027 presidential election. Drawing a parallel to former U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, Abubakar argues that repeated electoral defeat is a common hurdle in a political career.

During a discussion with Jaji TV Hausa, Abubakar recounted his past attempts to secure the governorship of Adamawa State. He noted that military administrations voided his first four bids, yet he ultimately succeeded on his fifth try. Reflecting on this history, he emphasized his fitness and commitment to his political aspirations. He pointedly asked how many times Abraham Lincoln experienced electoral failure before achieving the American presidency, using this comparison to justify his own continued pursuit of the Nigerian office.
