Teenager tragically drowns in Danbatta pond

A teenager named Abdullahi Aminu died after falling into a pond in Danbatta, Kano State, despite emergency rescue efforts.

An 18-year-old resident, Abdullahi Aminu, passed away following a fall into a pond located in the Kofar Gabas region of Danbatta, Kano State. The event was confirmed on Wednesday by ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, the spokesperson for the Kano State Fire Service.

Reports indicate the incident took place on Tuesday. Official records show that emergency responders were alerted at 3:28 p.m. when Aminu Lawan notified the service that his son had fallen into the water. A rescue team from the local station was deployed to the site promptly.

Upon arrival, the team located the victim, but he was unresponsive when pulled from the pond. Medical professionals later declared the young man dead. His remains were released to Alhaji Baba Ado Sarkin Bai, the secretary to the District Head of Danbatta, to facilitate burial arrangements.

The Fire Service has offered its condolences to the grieving family. Authorities are currently advising the public to remain vigilant and avoid proximity to bodies of water to prevent similar accidents.
