Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has formally requested that Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu authorize the immediate arrest and prosecution of Senator Francis Fadahunsi. The request follows a viral video in which the senator, representing Osun East, allegedly encouraged APC supporters to target and kill members of the Accord Party, including their families. Addressing reporters in Osogbo, Governor Adeleke described the senator’s rhetoric as a severe national security risk that extends beyond routine political discourse.
The governor reported that he has alerted the Inspector-General, who acknowledged the video’s existence and pledged that security agencies would address the matter. Beyond the immediate threat, Adeleke criticized the Intelligence Response Team for allegedly conducting unjust arrests of Accord Party officials. He called upon both the police and the Department of State Services to cease these actions and ensure that the upcoming August 15 governorship election is conducted under fair, lawful conditions that protect all citizens.
