Emmanuel Nwobo, a prominent figure in the Ebonyi State Peoples Democratic Party, has asserted that staff working for Governor Francis Nwifuru are responsible for the majority of violent incidents occurring within the state. Nwobo shared these claims during an appearance on the Arise Television program Morning Show this past Tuesday.
The PDP official argued that the Governor is likely informed about these activities, which frequently target members of the political opposition. He cited a specific instance where a legal practitioner’s residence was targeted by a mob exceeding 200 individuals. According to Nwobo, these actors frequently utilize social media platforms to declare that opposition politics will not be tolerated in Ebonyi.
Nwobo expressed frustration regarding the lack of action from law enforcement despite formal complaints being filed. He emphasized that the perpetrators often celebrate their actions publicly, insisting that the Governor must be held accountable for the conduct of his subordinates who openly reject the presence of opposition parties.
