A man identified as Abdulrasheed Usman has slumped and d!ed while breaking his Ramadan fast in Kutunku, Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

A witness, Suleiman Bala, said the incident occurred on Saturday, March 1, 2025, when the deceased and three of his friends were breaking their fast in the area.

He said Usman and his friends were sitting on a bench eating fruits when he suddenly collapsed.

Bala stated that the friends immediately took him on a motorcycle to a nearby hospital, where the doctor on duty confirmed him dead.

According to him, the late Usman, who was hale and hearty, had returned from Kaduna at about 5:47 p.m. and rushed to join his friends to break his fast when the incident happened.

“One of his brothers said the deceased returned from Kaduna and went to join his friends where they normally relaxed. And when the Magrib prayer was called, he joined them to breakfast and it was in the process that the incident happened,’’ the witness said.

He added that the remains of the deceased had been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
