The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State has moved its statewide gratitude tour to the Kwara Central Senatorial District following a successful run in the southern zone. The delegation, headed by the party’s governorship candidate and Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, recently visited the Afon area in Asa Local Government and Ilorin West Local Government.
Traditional leaders, government officials, and party members welcomed the delegation at both locations. Representing the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Usman Abubakar Atolagbe Jos, the Balogun Alanamu, stated that the visit highlights the party’s respect for traditional institutions. Local leaders, including Alhaji Kolapo Abdulkadir in Balah, offered prayers for the candidates and affirmed their backing for the party.
Danladi expressed gratitude for the reception and highlighted the progress made under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. He reiterated the party’s dedication to serving the interests of the electorate and expressed optimism regarding their chances in the upcoming polls. Supporters were encouraged to maintain their loyalty, with local representatives like Hon. Mukhtar Tolani Shagaya and Alhaji Abdullateef Gidado Alakawa noting that the administration’s achievements necessitate continuity.
The tour also served as a platform to address internal party unity. Supporters and elders encouraged aggrieved members to prioritize the party’s collective goals and remain loyal to the chosen candidates. The delegation was supported by various assembly members and local government officials, all advocating for continued development and effective governance in the state.
