Tony Cascarino suggests Arsenal target Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma

Former Chelsea player Tony Cascarino has recommended that Arsenal pursue Brighton’s Kaoru Mitoma as a top transfer target this summer.

Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino has suggested that Arsenal look into signing Kaoru Mitoma from Brighton during the upcoming transfer window. Cascarino views the Japanese international as a strong alternative after the Gunners failed to secure Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior, who recently signed a six-year contract extension.

While Arsenal has also been linked to players like Nico Williams and Bradley Barcola, Cascarino insists that Mitoma is the right choice. Speaking on talkSPORT, he described the winger as a dangerous attacker who enjoys challenging defenders one-on-one. Although Cascarino acknowledged that Mitoma’s previous campaign was disrupted by frequent injuries, he maintained that the player remains exceptionally talented and would be a valuable addition to the Arsenal squad.

Mitoma joined Brighton from Kawasaki Frontale in 2021. Since his arrival, he has registered 23 goals and 11 assists across 113 matches. His most recent season was particularly difficult, as injury issues restricted him to just 19 starts in the Premier League, where he recorded three goals and one assist.
