Ahead of the upcoming 2026/2027 campaign, Manchester United has allocated the number 14 jersey to Marcus Rashford. This decision follows the English forward’s return from a loan spell at Barcelona, where the Spanish club opted against exercising a permanent purchase clause.
Since no other team secured a deal for him, United officials have opted to integrate him back into the squad. While Rashford previously utilized the number 10 kit at Old Trafford, that designation is currently held by Matheus Cunha.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano confirmed via social media that the club issued the new squad number as a signal of their intent to retain and utilize the player. Rashford is now joining the team’s travel plans, and he is expected to remain unless a substantial offer from a major European side is received.
