The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has formally dismissed the ICPC interim report regarding the alleged fraudulent Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). The party criticized the report as insufficient and expectedly biased. In a statement released on August 8, 2026, by National Publicity Secretary Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC accused the federal administration of prioritizing damage control over a thorough probe.
The opposition party highlighted significant gaps in the report, noting that it fails to explain how a supposed non-existent entity secured government office space, personnel, security details, and a substantial N1.3 billion budget allocation. The ADC argued that labeling this as a simple clerical mistake is unacceptable given the depth of institutional access the organization enjoyed.
The statement emphasized that the investigation appears to scapegoat a single individual, Adeyemi, rather than examining the systemic failures within government agencies that allowed the organization to function. The ADC questioned how a fake agency could obtain official vehicles, custom license plates, and approvals from the Presidency’s Chief of Staff without oversight.
Furthermore, the discovery of two additional fictitious groups linked to the same suspect suggests deeper procedural rot. The party insists that budget appropriations undergo rigorous verification, meaning specific officials must have enabled the inclusion of the PFIPC in the 2026 budget. The ADC demands the release of the complete report and the identification of all government officials whose negligence facilitated this fraud, rather than merely prosecuting one person.
