The Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB) has officially refuted claims suggesting that five directors and other high-ranking officials have surpassed their legal retirement age while remaining in their positions. These accusations, which surfaced on various social media platforms, were labeled as inaccurate and slanderous by the board.
In an official statement, the management emphasized that all personnel actions, including promotions and retirements, strictly adhere to Taraba State Public Service Rules. The board clarified that while service extensions can occur, they are only granted when deemed to be in the public interest and must receive formal authorization from the government.
TSUBEB explicitly defended Executive Chairperson Hon. Dr. Christiana Taninga Binga, stating that all staff currently serving beyond standard retirement ages have secured the mandatory official approvals. The board cautioned those responsible for spreading these claims that it may pursue legal repercussions for defamation.
Concluding the statement, the leadership urged citizens to verify information through official channels and reiterated their dedication to enhancing basic education standards within Taraba State.
