Soldiers from Sector 2 of Operation HADIN KAI have successfully cleared various ISWAP hideouts and supply depots across Yobe State. Security expert Zagazola Makama confirmed that the military action is focused on insurgents who relocated from the Timbuktu Triangle and Lake Chad Islands to escape intense pressure from ongoing regional operations.
Reports indicate the militants were attempting to build new bases near Gujba Local Government Area before military forces intervened. During the mission, troops identified and demolished multiple camps and support structures designed to house the fighters. These clearance patrols are actively sweeping areas including Mahdiyya, Lagarawa, Lamusheri, Ngarbai, and Wulle.
Military leadership stated that this campaign is a critical component of a broader effort to prevent defeated terrorists from finding sanctuary in inland villages. Troops continue to pursue the remaining militants while securing the affected regions to ensure they cannot re-establish a presence.
