Ambrose Nwaogwugwu, the Senior Special Assistant on Electronic and Creative Media to the Imo State Governor, has rejected claims that Governor Hope Uzodimma made public remarks about the singer David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, and the upcoming Osun State gubernatorial race. Nwaogwugwu issued a clarification on Thursday, stating that the comments originated from him as a private individual rather than from the Governor.
The aide criticized bloggers for misattributing his personal views to Uzodimma. He emphasized that official government communication is strictly channeled through the Commissioner for Information or the Chief Press Secretary. Unless explicitly authorized, media aides do not speak for the Governor directly.
Nwaogwugwu requested that media organizations rectify these inaccurate reports to uphold professional journalistic standards. He insisted that personal opinions of staff members should not be conflated with the official stance of the Imo State government.
