Alan Brazil, the former Manchester United striker, has publicly demanded the resignation of FIFA president Gianni Infantino. This call to action follows the controversy surrounding Infantino’s proposal to sell minority shares of the FIFA World Cup to private equity groups.
Although the plan was ultimately abandoned due to significant backlash from various football confederations, the fallout continues. During a discussion on talkSPORT, Brazil characterized the FIFA leader’s attitude as arrogant, suggesting that Infantino acts as if he is divine and exempt from accountability.
Brazil stated that the president must vacate his position, noting that his recent actions have exposed his true character. Adding to the pressure on FIFA leadership, football icon and former Real Madrid star Luis Figo has also joined the chorus of voices requesting that Infantino resign from his post.
