The Police Service Commission has authorized the appointment of AIG Auwal Musa Mohammed as the new Commandant for the Nigeria Police Academy located in Wudil, Kano State. Alongside this change, eight other senior officers have been reassigned to lead various state commands.
According to spokesperson Torty Njoku Kalu, AIG Mohammed brings over three decades of professional history in intelligence, investigations, and operational training. His background includes previous roles as Commandant of the Police College in Maiduguri and leadership positions in Bauchi and Zones 3 and 6. He earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Bayero University.
The commission also confirmed the new postings for the following Commissioners of Police: Afolabi Wilfred Olutokunbo moves to Abia, Ayodeji Faniyan to Plateau, and Saka Adewale Ajao to Bayelsa. Further assignments include Ajo Geoffrey Ordue for Cross River, Nnanna Oji Ama for Anambra, and Patrick Daaor for Edo. Rounding out the list are Tijani Murtala, assigned to Jigawa, and Samuel Erale Etaifo, who takes charge in Delta.
These personnel shifts are intended to address operational requirements following recent promotions within the force.
