His media office issued a statement on Tuesday labeling the online rumors as both fabricated and harmful, emphasizing that they serve as a deliberate effort to pull the traditional leader into political disputes.
Representing a neutral father figure for all citizens, the Sultan asserted that he cannot legally or morally back any specific candidate or political party. Signed by Bashir Adefaka, the statement clarified that the Sultan remains open to all Nigerians regardless of their political leanings and does not favor one side over another. This commitment to impartiality is central to his role as a spiritual and traditional guide.
