Super Eagles Striker Kelechi Iheanacho Joins Middlesbrough on Loan from Sevilla
Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho has completed a loan move to Championship club Middlesbrough until the end of the season.
The 28-year-old, who has previously played for Manchester City and Leicester City, joins Michael Carrick’s side, with an option for Middlesbrough to make the transfer permanent in the summer.
Middlesbrough will reportedly cover almost the entire €2 million that Sevilla still owes Iheanacho for the remainder of the season, according to Sky Sports.
Kelechi Iheanacho had a challenging time in Spain after joining Sevilla from Leicester City last summer, struggling to score in his nine La Liga appearances. His only goals came in the Copa del Rey, where he netted three times.
Now at Middlesbrough, Iheanacho is hoping for a fresh start at the Riverside Stadium. He aims to regain his form and contribute to Middlesbrough’s push for Premier League promotion. Currently, the club sits seventh in the Championship with 44 points from 29 matches, just outside the playoff spots.
