Olumuyiwa Elegbede: Why AI search success still depends on SEO basics

Olumuyiwa Ayodele Elegbede argues that despite the rise of AI-driven search, website owners must focus on technical SEO fundamentals to avoid being excluded from search results.

While search engines are increasingly using AI to provide direct answers, UK-based marketing manager Olumuyiwa Ayodele Elegbede argues that many websites are failing to adapt because their foundational technical structure remains poor. Elegbede, who works at Vidi-Corp Ltd, contends that AI systems struggle to interpret pages with disorganized data, improper headings, or slow load speeds just as traditional search engines did. The current risk is greater, as poor technical SEO may now result in complete exclusion from AI-generated summaries rather than just lower rankings.

Elegbede, who possesses academic backgrounds in computer networks and data science, notes that marketing teams often neglect technical SEO by treating it as a developer concern. To bridge this gap, he developed SEO Inspector, a free Chrome extension that simplifies real-time technical audits for non-technical users. Launched in 2025, the tool helps marketers evaluate page structure, meta tags, and headers without needing complex auditing software.

Beyond his software tool, Elegbede manages a YouTube channel dedicated to practical marketing automation and SEO training. His overarching goal is to demystify technical tasks for professionals without coding expertise. Ultimately, he suggests that businesses do not need exotic strategies to succeed in the age of AI. Instead, he emphasizes that maintaining clean, well-structured, and fast-loading websites remains the most effective way to ensure online visibility.
