During a conversation on the MENtality podcast, he explained that he prioritized spending on high-end fashion and luxury goods to keep up appearances. Eventually, he reached a turning point where he recognized that personal happiness holds more value than the relentless pursuit of social media approval.
Egbuson noted that his past habit of collecting items, such as 150 perfumes, represented poor financial judgment. He suggested that those funds would have been better utilized as investments in real estate. While he clarified that he does not condemn owning luxury cars or watches, he questioned whether such purchases are motivated by genuine desire or external peer pressure.
Reflecting on his experiences, the actor mentioned that he has faced periods of being broke but maintained his positive attitude by finding contentment regardless of his material standing. He encouraged his audience to understand that everyone faces difficult days and that basing one’s identity on an online facade is unsustainable.
