Chelsea Football Club has officially secured the services of Valentin Barco, who joins the team from Strasbourg. The 21-year-old Argentine midfielder has committed to a long-term deal that runs until 2033.
Barco previously competed for Brighton prior to his stint in Ligue 1. He was recently a member of the Argentina team that advanced to the World Cup final last month. Although he did not play during the 2-1 semi-final victory against England, he gained notoriety for an on-field altercation with Jude Bellingham once the match concluded.
During the tournament, Barco was spotted celebrating aggressively in front of English players following an equalizer scored by Enzo Fernandez. The midfielder is expected to integrate into Xabi Alonso’s roster once his required post-World Cup vacation concludes.
