Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated on Sunday that Nigeria is grieving the incident, which took place near El Karma on July 31, 2026, as a bus made its way from Sétif to Algiers.
The Nigerian government noted that President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has announced a three-day national mourning period to commemorate the deceased. Nigeria reaffirmed its support for Algeria throughout this difficult time.
