The Jigawa State Police Command has asked the public to remain calm if they hear gunfire in the Birnin Kudu Local Government Area. This activity is part of a scheduled shooting range exercise for law enforcement officers.
According to SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the Police Public Relations Officer, the training is designed to sharpen the combat skills, professional standards, and operational efficiency of officers. The session is set to occur on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at the CP AT Abdullahi Shooting Range in Tsohon Gari as a standard part of the force’s firearms proficiency curriculum.
Officials have reassured people living in and near Tsohon Gari that the drills will be held in a strictly monitored and safe setting. To maintain safety, the police have requested that citizens stay clear of the designated range area while the training is underway.
The command emphasized that these drills are vital for strengthening the officers’ ability to protect property and lives throughout the state. Authorities expressed gratitude to the residents of Jigawa for their cooperation and ongoing support in these efforts.
