Law enforcement officials in Arizona have made two ransom notes public, hoping that residents might recognize the author’s writing style and assist in the search for Nancy Guthrie. Guthrie, the mother of television personality Savannah Guthrie, vanished from her residence near Tucson six months ago at age 84.
The first communication, sent shortly after her January 31 disappearance, demanded a four-million-dollar Bitcoin payment. A second note arrived four days later, claiming that Nancy Guthrie had passed away due to a heart-related issue shortly after being taken. The Pima County Sheriff’s Office has not confirmed the validity of the death claim, stating that the investigation remains a priority.
Authorities are urging the public to consider if a friend, relative, or acquaintance uses the specific linguistic patterns found in these messages. Savannah Guthrie has publicly pleaded for the abductors to disclose her mother’s whereabouts, even offering to meet their financial demands shortly after the event occurred. Despite evidence including footage of a masked intruder at the victim’s home and a discarded glove found nearby, investigators have yet to identify a suspect or determine a clear motive for the abduction.
