Afrobeats icon Davido has launched his sixth studio album, ORIADE, signaling a fresh start in his decade-and-a-half-long professional journey. The 13-track record diverges from his usual 17-song format, making it his most concise collection to date.
The album showcases a diverse lineup of collaborators, including Leon Thomas, Black Sherif, Aya Nakamura, Mayorkun, Fola, Llona, NO11, JAZZWRLD, and GL_Ceejay. Davido introduced the project on June 29, opting for an aesthetic influenced by traditional Yoruba culture to mirror the album’s thematic depth. He described the work as an expansion of his musical legacy.
Leading up to the full release, fans were introduced to singles such as I Know Who I Be and Gimme Dat Ting. The former pays homage to his long-standing career through visuals of his childhood home, while the latter fuses Afrobeats with Amapiano rhythms. Following the album’s debut, the singer plans to embark on a world tour, building on the momentum of his previous regional success.
